Regional Development Agency "Braničevo-Podunavlje" in partnership with the Regional Development Agency of Eastern Serbia - RARIS, commenced the implementation of the project "Skills4Jobs - Improving employment opportunities and social inclusion of marginalised groups, by enhancing business environment in Eastern Serbia", which is funded by the Kingdom of Norway through the "Norway for you - Serbia" project.
The project will be implemented by September 2021, in 14 lesser developed municipalities from Braničevo, Podunavlje, Bor and Zaječar districts. The objective of the project is to contribute to more balanced socio-economic development, through improving the competitiveness and sustainability of local companies in tourism and related sectors, increasing (self)employability of young and other marginalized groups and improving the business environment in Golubac, Veliko Gradište, Negotin and Knjaževac.
At the online conference held on 26 November 2020, more than 50 participants were informed about the Project activities and its benefits for different target groups. The project is primarily intended for companies operating in tourism and related sectors, which will have the opportunity to participate in practical training in the field of trade fair, digital marketing and economic inclusion, get mentoring support in various areas of their business, and be promoted to national and Romanian markets.
In addition, project is targeting unemployed youth, women, rural population and representatives of other vulnerable groups, who will have the opportunity to participate in a professional training program for various occupations in the tourism sector and related sectors, as well as in the digital marketing sector, attend licensed training for beginners in business and workshops on various tourism topics. This way, 80 participants will significantly improve their employability, and while 12 previously unemployed will be employed or supported to start their own businesses. Local self-governments will also benefit, as they will be able to improve their local policies in the field of social inclusion, employment support and the tourism sector.
Some of the key questions during the conference were related to the possibility and conditions of participation in the Professional Training Programme, as well as the means of involvement in activities aimed at supporting the tourism industry. During December 2020, the public calls will be announced for the selection of participants in the Project - the unemployed and representatives of the tourism industry from the target municipalities, within which all defined conditions and benefits for potential participants will be transparently presented.
