Construction of a New Pipeline in Preševo Starts with the Support of Norway

Тhe construction of the pipeline is divided into three sections with a total length of about 6,000 meters, while drainage buildings and air valves with manholes are also planned, to ensure safer maintenance of the water supply system.

The construction of a new booster pipeline from the pumping station "Žujince" to the reservoir "Loši izvori" in Preševo, began with the support of the Kingdom of Norway through the "Norway for You - Serbia" project. The works worth 620,000 Euros will be completed by September 2021, which will ensure a more stable water supply to 13,000 inhabitants of Preševo.

According to the project, the construction of the pipeline is divided into three sections with a total length of about 6,000 meters, while drainage buildings and air valves with manholes are also planned, to ensure safer maintenance of the water supply system. During the works, the existing pipeline will provide water supply to the residents of this municipality, and interruptions will occur only when connecting the new pipeline, about which the line municipal services will inform the users in a timely manner.

"This is a very important project for the development of the infrastructure of Preševo, which has a long-standing challenge with water supply. With the support of the Kingdom of Norway, the reconstruction of the pumping station "Žujince" in Preševo, which is part of this system, was previously successfully completed," the a.i. Project Manager "Norway for you - Serbia" Milica Došenović said.

For the execution of these works, the Kingdom of Norway earmarked 430,000 Euros, while the Municipality of Presevo, through the Government of Serbia Coordination Body for Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa provided 190,000 Euros.
